Herald of Maranatha:
Fresh From God
Topic: Shaven glory (Day 95)
Judges 16 - 18 (Daily bible reading)
Text of focus: Judges 16:20 KJV
And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.
This addresses the sad fall of the strongest man that ever lived, a greatly anointed man. He said "I will go out as other times" but God had departed from him.
Earlier in this chapter, he had been with a harlot and he was still strong enough to lift a city's gate.
Judges 16:1,3 KJV
Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her. [3] And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.
It's very easy to mistake God's strength for personal effort if the gift persists even in the practice of sin.
When grace is exhausted, the unfortunate thing happens.
You need to examine yourself consistently to know You are still in right standing with God.
Jesus has made it clear that only the fruit can determine the true personality of a man and not the gift he manifests.
Matthew 7:20 KJV
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
A lot of people demonstrate anointing and gifts without an actual relationship with God, they are just a disaster going somewhere to happen.
Do not consider yourself fine because you see miracles happening or people responding to your ministrations, but let your proof be that you know God.
May you not end like Samson.

Summary
In the chapters read today (Judg 16‐18), We saw the fall of the strongest man who ever lived, Samson. He was given several instructions, and he was to be a judge in Israel, but he used his strength for himself. He only fought for vengeance and he sinned against God and gave himself up to his enemies. This teaches us not to be disconnected from God who is our source.
Question
How often do you examine yourself in Christ?
