HOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Don't negotiate oppression(Day 100)

Herald of Maranatha:

Fresh From God
Topic: Don't negotiate oppression(Day 100)
1 Samuel 9 -12  (Daily bible reading)

Text of focus: 1 Samuel 11:1-2 KJV

Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabesh-gilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee. [2] And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.

The spiritual realm answers to those who will possess their possessions forcefully with understanding.
Anyone who is restless in the Spirit can pray to change any negative situation. The powers that oppress you will never give you a suitable condition for terms of bondage.
The purpose of oppression is to inflict pain and discomfort on the oppressed,  you can not negotiate with oppression, you can only resist it.

From the text, Jabesh-gilead tried negotiating with her enemies, to attain a mild relationship, but their enemies proposed a tougher condition. This is the exact way the devil relates with his victims.

What is that situation that has kept you under consistent oppression?

Break its yoke from your neck today and be free completely.
Oppressors are not always as powerful as they appear, more so Jesus has promised to fight the battle with you.

Isaiah 49:24-25 KJV
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? [25] But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

It's now your choice to remain under oppression or to break loose from it.
Come out of anything that links you up with the devil, submit yourself to Jesus, and resist the devil and his oppression now.

Summary

In the chapters read today (1 Sam 9 - 12 ), we saw how Saul was anointed king over Israel and how he was despised by some people who rebelled. He raised a war in support of the people of Jabesh-gilead, which finally led to everyone approving him to be king over them. Saul was made king and Samuel told the children of Israel what the monarchy system will bring upon them.

Question

How can you break the yoke of oppression?
