Herald of Maranatha:
Fresh From God
Topic: stuck in a phase of success (Day 87)
Joshua 19 - 21 (Daily bible reading)
Text of focus: Joshua 19:47-48 KJV
And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father. [48] This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
The entire children of Israel just took over the lands of the Canaanites, Amorites, and the rest and they had divided it into tribes. This was obviously a great success for them after a promise of over 400 years and a journey of 40 years. It was really a phase of success but not the end.
While some other tribes settled to dwell with inhabitants of the land, the tribe of Dan refused to be stuck in a phase of success. Dan arose to take more lands and these lands were accounted for her possession.
For how long have you been stuck in a phase of success?
To be stuck in a phase of success is different from being an entire failure, but it is the same as not being completely successful. Those who have not succeeded at all may still see reasons to pray, but the partly successful might relax and keep enjoying that phase of success without moving forward.
You were celebrated and you rejoiced on that achievement many years ago and you're still making yourself comfortable in the past glory of that same achievement. No, there are yet more grounds to claim, arise and launch forward, refusing to be stuck in a phase of success.
Genesis 27:40 MSG -
You’ll live by your sword, hand-to-mouth,
and you’ll serve your brother.
But when you can’t take it any more
you’ll break loose and run free.
There is always a way up if you become restless to reject stagnation.

Summary
In the chapters read today (Joshua 19 - 21), The children of Israel have crossed to the other side of Jordan and Joshua is old and there are yet many lands to take over. The lands were divided among the tribes of Israel. Dan fought and claimed more lands, while some other tribes chose to live with the inhabitants of the lands.
