Text of focus: Numbers 27:13,15-17 KJV
And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered. [15] And Moses spake unto the Lord, saying, [16] Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, [17] Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep which have no shepherd.
From today's focus text, you can see Moses the great intercessor, who made God repent of the evil He wanted to do to the children of Israel, got a sentence of death and there was no one to intercede for him.
Moses demonstrated a great deal of Selflessness in his conversation with God. He was just told of how he would see the promised land and will not get there, but instead of begging to get there, he begged for someone to lead Israel into the promised land. A journey of forty years will be ending without him entering the destination, but he was more concerned about how others will get there.
Moses was kin on the fulfillment of the promise of God to Israel, he was not so concerned about himself.
How committed are you to the will of God?
There is a dimension of the knowledge of God that makes one totally die to self and be lost in the will of God.
You need to desire to walk with God until you have completely lost yourself in His will.
Allow the zeal of God's will to eat you up.
Hebrews 10:7 KJV
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Decide to be dead to flesh today and be alive to God.
Summary
In the chapters read today (Num 26 -27), we learned about how God instructed Eleazar to take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel. How God established the law of giving the dead's inheritance to the next of kin. God told Moses to prepare to die and to anoint Joshua.
