Herald of Maranatha:
Text of focus: Numbers 16:3 KJV
And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord?
The subtle words of rebellion can sometimes be like a righteous pursuit. Korah was only seeking his own, he envied the position Moses occupied and he desired it, but he hinged his protest on the Lord's congregation.
No matter how rebellion tries to hide in pretense, God who searches the heart of man will identify it.
God expects you to give honor to whom honor is due, He doesn't want you to disregard your spiritual authorities, especially on spiritual matters, by claiming you possess some level of spiritual capabilities as well. No one knew the Levites until Moses, then they got a priestly heritage and were sanctified by God, then the next agenda of Korah was to raise himself above Moses.
Be watchful and careful not to demonstrate rebellion at any time, because that was the attempt of Lucifer before he fell.
Flee rebellion, may you not fall in Jesus' name.
Summary
In the chapters read today (Num 16-17), we learned about how the rebellion of Korah and his company, Moses' plea to them, and their refusal to obey Moses. God's judgment came on the rebels and all their company. God made the appointment of Aaron known to them all. Rebellion displeases God.
Question
1. Can I question my spiritual leaders' decisions on matters?
● Oh Lord, I commit my ways unto you, prosper it in Jesus' name.
● Oh Lord let your kingdom come and your will be done on earth in Jesus' name.
