Text of focus: Numbers 33:55 KJV

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

The focus text here addresses God's instructions to drive out the inhabitants of the land He gave unto them as they will pose a danger to them in the future.

How do you relate to this?

You need to put away every old nature you used to have before you met with Christ.

Colossians 3:5-6 KJV

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: [6] For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Past evil nature only attracts God's wrath, so it is expedient you completely forsake them.

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

It is essential to completely get rid of the old nature. 

Do you still consistently live in lust of the flesh, though saved?

You need to nail that lust to the flesh. Anytime you notice any strange tendencies in you, that's the time to go back to the cross to nail it there. 

The sinful tendencies you do not deal with will soon deal with you.

Summary 

In the chapters read today (Num 31 - 33), we learned about the instruction of God to avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites. The children of Reuben and Gad asked for possession before crossing the river Jordan, but Moses said the condition is for their men to join Israel in taking over the land and driving out the inhabitants. We also saw a review of the entire forty years journey of the children of Israel.

Question
