Herald of Maranatha:
Text of focus: Numbers 19:20 KJV
But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the Lord : the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
The focus text today emphasizes the importance of being clean literally as a symbol for the holiness requirements to be identified with Christ.
1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
It is expedient that you are clean as the temple of God, you must watch daily in full vigilance not to engage in unclean activities. Should you find yourself unclean it's important you are cleansed immediately, a refusal to be clean might cause death.
The temple of God is not meant to be defiled.
1 Corinthians 3:17 KJV
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
Always ensure you are clean, from every possible defilement.
How can I be clean?
Psalm 119:9 KJV
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
Give heed to the word of God consistently.
1 John 1:7 KJV
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Walk in light and fellowship with the saints consistently.
Summary
In the chapters read today (Num 18-20), we learned about the first fruits offering, tithes, the portion of the Levites in Israel as they have no land in Israel, and the heave offering. Cleaning the unclean was addressed. Mariam died, and the people complained about the lack of water, God told Moses to speak to the rock but he struck the rock twice, God punished him and Aaron, and he will not bring the congregation into the promised land, unfortunately, there was no one to intercede for the great intercessor. Aaron died and his son took his place.
Question
1. List more ways you can be clean?
● Oh Lord, I commit my ways unto you, prosper it in Jesus' name.
● Oh Lord let your kingdom come and your will be done on earth in Jesus' name.
