Herald of Maranatha:
Text of focus: Numbers 5:6-7 KJV
Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the Lord, and that person be guilty; [7] Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.
The focus today is on the subject of restitution.
Restitution is restoring something lost or stolen to the right owner.
You can see God teaching the children of Israel, confession, and restitution from the focus text. This is actually the most challenging part of forgiveness of sin.
It's easier to confess sins to God but not to man because you can't see God, which makes you believe your sin is still secret.
James 5:16 KJV
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
It's also important to confess your sins, as well as to make restitution. You can confess your sins to your spiritual leaders to seek proper counsel, and make restitution as directed.
Don't keep what doesn't belong to you anymore, make restitution and silence the accuser (devil), and experience freedom in your heart today.
Summary
In the chapters read today (Num 5 to 6), we learned about how God taught confession and restitution. He also taught about infidelity issues and jealousy offerings. The consecration of the Nazarites and the priest's conduct.
Question
How can I approach sensitive restitution?
● Oh Lord, I commit my ways unto you, prosper it in Jesus' name.
● Oh Lord let your kingdom come and your will be done on earth in Jesus' name.
