Exod 25 to 27 (Daily bible reading)
Text of focus: Exodus 27:20 KJV
And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.
God gave a lot of specific instructions on dimensions, measurements, and other criteria for the altar and the ark which indicates God's interest in perfection. Nothing short of perfection should be given to God. From the instructions given, we have our text of focus, indicating a supply of oil for the lamp to keep the lamp burning.
The implication of this is that our prayer altar needs to be sustained and burning continuously. The oil here signifies the word of God, meaning that, as the lamp cannot burn without oil, so also prayer cannot be sustained without the word of God.
This is really important before God, so let's endeavor to dwell more on prayers and the word of God.
Fuel the fire on your prayer altar with the word of God.
Your lamp must burn always.
