Text of focus: Leviticus 11:44-45 KJV

For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. [45] For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

From our text of focus,  we see God's instruction regarding holiness and sanctification. Holiness in life, character, attitude, behavior, and all aspects of life is not optional for the children of God, it is mandatory because our God is holy.

God warned them not to defile themselves with any manner or creeping thing.

What is God telling us today?

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 KJV

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you, [18] And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

We are not meant to be involved in anything that defiles, our spirit, soul, and body, we should only be involved in things that are edifying and holy. 

 Just as God warned of things the children of Israel must not eat, we also need to watch out for things we must not take into our spirit man, or else we are defiled and become unacceptable before God.

Summary 

In the chapters read today (Lev 8 to 10), we learned about how God warned concerning sanctification and holiness, avoidance of creeping things, and every unclean beast.  God also spoke about plagues, leprosy, and the sacrifices for the cleansing of a woman after childbirth.
