Text of focus: Leviticus 18:4-5 KJV

Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God. [5] Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord.

The focus text today is addressing the entire duty of man, which is "to please God". 

While we live on earth it is very important to understand the purpose of our existence otherwise we will achieve nothing significant. 

To obey God's commandment is to love Him.

To love God is to please Him.

To please God is to fulfill the purpose of your existence.

This was why Jesus said without Him you can do nothing John 15:5

You may wonder many who do not know Christ are still living, buying houses, owning businesses having families, and many other things. 

The truth is that everything done outside of Christ is equal to nothing, it all ends at the point of death. It is only what we do in Christ, that counts for eternity. It is wise to do the will of God and labour toward your place in eternity.

Summary 

In the chapters read today (Lev 16 to 18), we learned about how God instructed about sacrifices for atonement, and sin offering, and He also spoke against all manner of sexual immorality, incest, homosexuality, bestiality, and the like. God warned against eating blood.
