Herald of Maranatha:
Genesis 4 to 7 (Daily bible reading)
Gen 4 vs 7 KJV (text)
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
From today's bible reading(Gen 4 to 7) we could see how sin continued in the human race. The devil has been furious knowing that the seed of the woman would bruise him (Gen 3:15), so he tries everything possible to pollute the seed. The devil continued his contamination agender, from Cain till the fallen angels came to mix with the seed of man, to produce hybrids human, giant in nature and evil increased, God had to make a plan of separating the pure from the impure human.
There is a lot to learn, but the only aspect I will be addressing today is a reflection on Cain's sacrifice, for us to learn what God requires of us this year.
Devil's first target was Cain, which he instigated to murder Abel, his brother, knowing he was a purer man.
Cain had God as his instructor - the key text above illustrated how God forewarned Cain about how the devil was suggesting evil in his heart and that he should overcome it (Gen 4:7).
Did Cain offer bad stuff for sacrifice? No
The scripture did not state that his sacrifice was not good.
Why was Cain's sacrifice not accepted by God?
Some untold stories would have revealed the true nature of Cain, before the time of the sacrifice, God actually rejected Cain, hence his sacrifice was unacceptable.
"If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? Gen 4:7"
What are the sacrifices you have set your mind to offer unto God this year?
Remember, you are the first sacrifice; offer yourself to God first then your other sacrifices would be accepted.
How do I offer myself to God?
By serving Him in holiness without conformity with the world.
Rom 12:1-2 KJV
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
God delights in the sacrifice of His saints.
Palm 50:5 KJV
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
● I call forth your promises over my life, hasten your word to perform it in Jesus' name.
● Oh Lord let thy kingdom come and your will be done on earth in Jesus' name.
