Gen 32 to 34 (Daily bible reading)
Text of focus: Genesis 32:27-28 KJV
And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. [28] And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
From the text of focus today, we will look at Jacob's encounter with the Lord.
Jacob was left alone, and he wrestled with the Lord till dawn. He asked that the Lord should bless him and the Lord asked him "what is your?"
Does that ring a bell?
Twenty years ago, he was asked the same question, and the answer he gave cost him the next twenty years of his life.
For God to amend his life He had to ask the question again.
If he had lied to God as he did to his father, his case would have been closed and he will be doomed forever.
When he lied, he didn't only get the blessing, but he also got the struggle associated with Esau's life, remember that prophetically Jacob was to be great already. His lie added struggle to his journey.
What have you said that is making your life more difficult?
Pray to God today for a change today.
