Gen 30 to 31 (Daily bible reading)
Text of focus: Genesis 31:13 KJV
I am the God of Beth-el, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.
From the text of focus today, I could see the power of personal altar.
Jacob once had a revelation twenty years earlier, on his way to Laban's house, where he saw a ladder that reaches heaven and Angels ascending and descending. It was an encounter with God and he respected it and he built an altar there and called that place the house of God (Bethel).
Twenty years later it was amazing to see God honoured the altar Jacob raised, and He called Himself the God of Bethel.
It is important you raise an altar in honour of your God. This could be as simple as a "prayer corner" or "prayer room" God honour such simple acts.
The altar will be a place of constant meeting with your God in prayers.
Someone once shared the idea of have an altar at home, while he was away his children took another sick child to that spot for healing, saying "that's the place daddy prays, it's the presence of God" and the child was healed.
Be more intentional about your dedication to God and watch Him manifest in a new dimension.
Summary
In the chapters read today (Gen 30 to 31), we learned about the family of Jacob, the birth of all his children, how he was cheated by Laban and his departure from Laban's house after twenty years of serving him. It's important to note how God (The God of Bethel) fought for him by giving him a divine genetics revelation, to control the kind of offspring the rams and cattle bore in his favour.
