Job 38‐42 (Daily bible reading)
Text of focus: Job 42:8 KJV
Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
Wow, God finally spoke to Job through the whirlwind. There are lots of lessons in these chapters but we just going to focus on a few, which are forgiveness and God's restoration.
All through the last few days we have been reading the accusations laid against Job by his friends.
God has finally spoken and judged everyone's actions and He asked the friends to offer sacrifices and request for Job's prayers for them nor to face God's wrath. Job was not reluctant in paying for them, not minding his present situation, but God restored him in many folds.
It might be very difficult to forgive in many situations, but that's the demand from God our maker.
Seven things about forgiveness:
1. Forgiving is more beneficial to you than the one you're Forgiving.
2. Your major breakthrough might be attached to forgiveness.
3. Forgiving gives you good health.
4. Forgiving gives you answers to your prayers.
5. There is always a blessing attached to forgiving.
6. Lack of forgiveness keeps you in the past and prevents you from present and future blessings.
7. Lack of forgiveness causes heaviness of heart and depression.
Are you finding it difficult to forgive, maybe the person really hurt you, or he/she is remorseful.
You have to forgive anyways, not because the person deserves it, but because God requires it and you need it to progress.
How do I forgive someone that really hurt me, and is still not remorseful?
The simple thing to do is just to start praying for that person, and you will soon realize that the heaviness of the hurt in your heart will vanish.
Try this and experience the peace and power of forgiveness through God's grace.
Summary
In the chapters read today (Job 38 to 42), God finally spoke and restored Job in many folds, He lived 140 years more and had 7 sons and 3 daughters, and he saw his fourth generation, God is always good.
