Gen 35 to 37 (Daily bible reading)
Text of focus: Genesis 35:27-3 KJV
And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
Something important to note from the chapters read today was the return to bethel.
Bethel was the point of Jacob's first personal encounter with God. Jacob was alone and running away from his brother when God appeared to him, He blessed and saw him through his journey.
Jacob came back to acknowledge God when he had become great, with family and wealth. Many people don't remember God anymore until they are in trouble.
How often do you remember and acknowledge your God?
Consciously remember God, when you are at peace and comfortable, not only when you are in trouble.
Develop a habit of seeking God when there's no problem. That's when you will be preserved from problems.
Summary
In the chapters read today (Gen 35 to 37), we learned about the return of Jacob to Bethel, the death of Rachael. Joseph was sold to Ishmaelites and taken into Egypt. Jacob deceived about Joseph's death.
Question
