HOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Hope for the nation (Day 17).

Herald of Maranatha:

Fresh From God
Topic: Hope for the nation (Day 17).

Gen 16 to 18  (Daily bible reading)

Text of focus: Genesis 18:32-33 KJV

And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake. [33] And the Lord went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

In the focus text today, you can see the intercession of Abraham for Sodom and Gomorrah. I believe you have read or heard this passage before, but did you really get the message God was passing through His conversation with Abraham?

Abraham began from 50 down to 10 righteous people, and God said for 10 righteous' sake he would not destroy the land.

Does this mean God was going to condone their sins inasmuch as there were 10 righteous among them?

No!

God was making us know that ten righteous were enough hope for the transformation of a nation. 🤔

Could this be true?

Jesus demonstrated it by using eleven disciples to turn the entire world upside down.

God was actually passing a message across to our generation. A few righteous are enough to cause a transformation in any system. The righteous is God's hope for the world.

Jesus also spoke about it, he said

👇🏽

Matthew 5:13 KJV

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

We don't need too much salt in food, a little is enough to make a good taste.

To be righteous means acting in accord with divine or moral law: free from guilt or sin.

Are you righteous?

Why are you complaining about the systems at your place of work, your community, your country, or the world at large?

You are the agent of change the world is waiting for, and nothing will change until you enforce it.

Romans 8:19 KJV

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Dominion and subduing were the major mandates God gave us.

Arise as an agent of change now and begin to enforce the will of God here on earth.

Summary

In the chapters read today (Gen 16 to 18), we learned about how a carrier of a great destiny can cause great havoc. Abraham was carrying God's covenant and his seed was to become a great Nation (Gen 12:2), when impatience made him go into his wife's maid and he had Ishmail, the covenant was altered; it became the father of many nations (Gen 17:4). Every error of Abraham became a nation, his sin also sin became a sinful nation. As his righteousness, became a blessing to the whole world, his error became a trouble to the whole world. Be careful of the destiny you are carrying, your mistake can be costly.

Question

How can I cause a change in my system?

please leave your views in the comment section.
