John 8:44 KJV
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
As a matter of concern, lie has been so trivialized by many believers. People lie in their daily activities and they feel comfortable with it. People justify lies by classifications which makes lying easier for those who want to embrace it. Unfortunately lie is a major paternity test as Jesus made it clear.
From the text above, Jesus describes the devil like none else could and He revealed a silent secrete about the true paternity test. Jesus knew the devil from the beginning, so He can best describe him.
He called him a murderer, a liar and the father of it.
Jesus said something interesting, He said, "when he lies, he speaks of his own." That means the devil is lie personified.
A liar can easily condemn a whore, because it's generally believed that lie is a simple sin, but unfortunately it's Satan personified.
Why do you lie?
To conceal the truth!
Every other reason we may give falls under concealing the truth.
If you lie to conceal the TRUTH, that means, you lie to prevent Christ's revelation and you reveal the devil.
Jesus is the Truth personified.
John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 17:17 KJV
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
If you want to understand the gravity of lie, search out how much God cherishes the truth, He named Himself TRUTH.
Each time you lie, you identify with the devil and deny Christ.
Jesus never told a lie, not even by mistake. He would rather keep quiet rather than lying.
Receive the grace to live in truth from this moment onward, in Jesus name.

Flee from lie. You can't be left without a choice, make Jesus(TRUTH) your choice always.

● we turn to you in full repentance, to seek you with our whole heart, have mercy on us oh Lord.
