Topic: Pray like Jabez. (Discipleship, spiritual warfare)

1 Chronicles 4:10 KJV

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

 The story of Jabez began with his testimony,  then the process he engaged. If we really need a change in our situation,  it will be ideal for us to exam someone who prayed and got a similar change in his situation.

What are the things to learn from Jabez's prayer?

Firstly, he prayed to the true God. Many people, while praying, fix their mind on some other people they are expecting to help them. This might be a great hindrance to answered prayers. The scriptures made us know clearly that helps comes only from God and not from any man. 

Psalm 121:2 KJV

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

This is the first thing we need to realize, then we can pray correctly. 

Secondly, he asked for what he needed "a blessing indeed". When you pray to God, you don't need to bother yourself on how God will do it, just ask for what you need from God.

Philippians 4:6 KJV

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Reducing your request based on the consideration of it's possibility is like ridiculing God beside your needs.

Thirdly,  he asked in faith. 

Why?

When he requested for God's blessings indeed, he knew how great God's blessing could be so he requested for an enlargement of his coast that he might be able to accommodate the blessing of God. We're often not prepared for the blessing we are requesting for, hence we do not get it.

Luke 5:37 KJV

And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

When we are not prepared for what we are requesting it causes unwanted delay.

Fourthly, he asked for the ability to manage the blessed stated. When a child begin to learn how to do something,  his hand will be held by an experienced hand. He requested for the Hand of God. When God holds the hand of a Man, nations are subdued before him.

Isaiah 45:1 KJV

Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

Finally, he asked for the preservation of his blessed state, so he won't return to the former state. These were the secret of his total transformation and the result he got.

1 Chronicles 4:9 KJV

And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

Our God answers prayer, only let's pray right. 

May the Lord in His mercy answer all your long waiting requests in Jesus name.

Decide to begin to pray to God with understanding. Pray with faith and ask for a new capacity to maintain what you're requesting from God.

Prayer 🙏

● we turn to you in full repentance, to seek you with our whole heart, have mercy on us oh Lord.

● Oh Lord Jesus bless me indeed. 

● Lord Jesus, enlarge my capacity.

● O Lord hold my right hand to teach me your ways, let nations be subdued before me and every mountain leveled.  

  ● Oh Lord preserve your blessings over me, may no evil come near me in Jesus name.

● Oh Lord, we ask for your mercy over the nations of the earth, remember mercy oh Lord.

● Pray for the preservation of the health workers.

● Pray for those affected all over the world.

● We bring China🇨🇳, Italy🇮🇪, United Kingdom🇬🇧, United States,🇱🇷 Iran🇮🇳, UAE🇦🇪, Canada🇨🇦, Nigeria🇳🇬, Ukraine🇺🇦 and all the countries affected before you, let your healing power flow through the nations in Jesus name.
