Really? does anyone dine with the devil and still dine with God on the same table?

You can call devil all sort of names but anyone in his custody can't call him a fool. Do you think you will enjoy a few pleasure the devil and return Scot free?

That was a paraphrase of my discussion with a sister about 8 years ago.

Many of us are in that situation of desiring a break from the yoke of godliness. Living a godly life has suddenly become a burden on us and we're seeking a bit of freedom. This has led many to keep changing their churches (denomination), because many churches have also blended with the  desires of the flesh,  so they accommodates the yearning of the flesh and not of the spirit.

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. [3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Do I need a little break? This is a question we need to ask ourselves from time to time. We often feel bored or burdened with some activities and something within us yearns for a break.

The flesh constantly cries out for freedom from the yoke of godliness, it desires satisfaction before it will be finally destroyed. But it doesn't mind disconnecting the spirit from God and destroying the soul in hell as well.

When your flesh is asking for a break from God, that's when you need more intimacy with Him, thereby mortifying(killing) the flesh.

It was just a little break that destroyed David's record. He took a break from fighting the battle of God and he fell on Bathsheba's laps.

Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

That was the only dent in David's image.

That little break is capable of the destroying your entire life.

A little break terminated the young prophet's ministry and ended his life.

Had he not sat under the Oak tree he might have been the prophet in Israel instead of Elijah.

A little break destroyed the life of Dinah, the first woman in the line of covenant since God's prophecy about the seed of the woman. (Messiah)

And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land. [2] And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.

Dinah might have been the mother of the Messiah, but she was defiled but the woman must be a virgin. She was on a little break away from her father's God and His commandments, to see the daughters of the land.

A little break is only little for you, but great enough in the hands of the devil, your adversary, to destroy a glorious destiny forever.
