Fresh From God
Topic: The kingdom of God. (Discipleship, Eschatology)
John 3:3 KJV
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Further analysis on the kingdom of God as frequently used in the bible, helps in having better understanding. From the text above, for a proper understanding let's see what led to the statement Jesus made.
John 3:2-3 KJV
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. [3] Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
"for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him."
The reference to the great miracles Jesus did was what led to His response. That means the kingdom of God has to do with such authority that produces that kind of miracles.
The kingdom of God is all about subduing the will and powers of darkness and establishing the counsel and authority of God.
Jesus referred to this level of manifestation as seeing the kingdom of God, which does not guarantee entrance.
Matthew 7:22-23 KJV
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Entrance is guaranteed by fellowship with the word and Spirit of God.
John 3:5 KJV
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Being born again qualifies us for the miraculous and manifestation of power, but being born of the water (word) and the Spirit prepares us for entering into God's kingdom, and this is a daily requirement.
We need to constantly commune with the Word and the Spirit of God constantly, from day to day, to keep ourselves in tune with God.
