Topic: Faith versus knowledge II
(Discipleship)
Luke 18:8 KJV
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
The question of finding faith on earth at the coming of Christ is seriously linked to the fast decrease in the knowledge of God in the world. The preceding verse of that reference says:
Luke 18:7 KJV
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Jesus drew this conclusion from addressing the action of the unjust judge, comparing the scenario with the elect of God crying unto Him day and night. So not finding faith here might simply mean people will cry less unto God, but they will rather engage their logical ideas and knowledge.
Could this be true?
Yes it is.
If anyone falls sick now what comes first to our mind?
"Let him see the Doctor" of course.
James 5:14 KJV
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
There was a time when there were not many Doctors out there to take care of the sick, people depended on God for healing, Faith.
The centurion came from afar to seek healing for his servant. Matt 8.
The noble man of John 4: 49-50 also came for the healing of his son.
As knowledge increased people called less on God for their problems.
This could be linked to the fact that we are at the end time as prophesied by Daniel.
Daniel 12:4 KJV
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Knowledge can either destroy or build your faith, reject negative ones and embrace the knowledge of God.
Depend more on God, less on yourself, then you will see how great you can be in faith. The more we depend on God, the more we're established in faith.
Depend on God like a "fool" and possess what the wise of this word can not earn.
Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Reduce or rather, eradicate the knowledge of self and satan, and increase the knowledge of God and experience a perfect life.
