A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

The heart of a man is responsible for every good or wicked actions of the man. A good heart Carries out good deeds, while wicked heart does wickedness.

Matthew 12:35 KJV
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

As Jesus rightly described in the text above, treasures are stored in the heart. The kind of works you exhibits tells the manner of treasure stored in your heart.

Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

The natural heart is wicked, because it operates under the influence of the old man(nature).

Colossians 3:9-10 KJV
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; [10] And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

That's why we can't do any good works by our own except through regeneration by God's grace, putting on the new man with a new heart.

 For our works to be good, and that our hearts can treasure good things, God promised us a new heart under the influence of  the new man(nature).

Our hearts are like the hard disk of a computer, we can only process what we take into our hearts, watch your input line.

The new man(nature) feeds on good things, the word of God,  where the old man, feeds on the desires of the flesh.

At salvation God gives us a new heart, and the new man, so that old things are gone and we can build on new things.
Our responsibility after having a new heart is not to feed it with, old and corrupt information that destroyed the former heart we possessed.

As you disallow the virus that once crashed your harddrive to come into the new one, so must you disallow the information that corrupted your old heart from entering the new heart God gives.

Proverbs 4:23 KJV
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Block the sources that supplies defilement into your heart. Such as:
Strange social media groups or pages.
Strange movies.
Strange picture.
Strange novels.
Strange musics.
All these precedes strange imaginations, which eventually leads to strange manifestations.

Feed your heart with the word of God and godly information be it movies, pictures, books etc.

This is how to keep your new heart from corruption.

Philippians 4:7-8 KJV
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
