Herald of Maranatha:
Fresh From God
Topic: Who is your companion on the journey?
Exodus 33:2,14 KJV
And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: ....... [14] And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
In every journey your destination, if known, should determine your companions, but if unknown your companions will determine your destination.
Futher more, the phases of your journey will determined by the companions you have or by whoever leads the journey.
From the texts above the Israelites sinned against God, but God will not break His promise, He said He will lead them into the promised land by the hands of His Angel. He will drive out their enemies before them, that means they will conquer and will be victorious.
Remember there can't be a conquering and a victory without battle. So the angelic promise signified a certain conquering and victory.
By understanding Moses wasn't satisfied, he asked for more, God's presence.
When God consented, He promised rest with His presence.
"And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest."
The presence of God obviously guarantees victory in rest, that means without a battle.
Many of us are lacking the genuine presence of God, so we take the angelic presence to be God's. That we have prayers answered and many testimony doesn't indicate God's presence.
In God's presence, rest is sure besides answered prayers, unmerited favour flows. So let's desire God presence above all our requests.
