(Discipleship)
Genesis 1:26 KJV
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
This question, who am I? Sounds so simple but it's the most difficult question to answer for many people.
These are some of the things you need to know about yourself. When you clearly make these real unto yourself, you will redirect your living pattern.
You're welcome to this great discipleship series, let's follow it diligently as the Holy Spirit our great teacher will lead us through.
Who am I? III
Who are you?
Many know who they are called but not who they are. You are not who you are called or who you think you are but you who God through the Bible tells you that you are.
7 key things to know about yourself from the Scripture;
● You were created in God’s image and likeness (Genesis 1:26, 27) – Image (means that you look like God); Likeness (means that you are like God; the same substance as God).
Genesis 1:27 KJV
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
●You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) – Lack of knowledge of this has made some people subject to bondage.
Psalm 139:14 KJV
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
●God’s hand created and formed you (Psalm 139:15-17) – The hand of God formed you, He didn’t speak you into being like the other things He created. The entire humanity was in Adam when God formed him.
Psalm 139:15-16 KJV
My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. [16] Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
●You carry the breath of God (Job 33:4; John 1:4) – When God created the other creatures He was not careful to breath His life in them yet when He made man He breathed in him.
You are God’s offspring (Acts 17:28)
●You were made only a little lower than the angels (Psalm 8:4, 5; Hebrews 2:7, 8) – In the real sense if you were made in the image of God it means that you are greater than the angels. But we are lower than the angels in the sense that we are subject to death. It’s not that your being is less than the angels.
Hebrews 2:7-8 KJV
Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: [8] Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
●You are the crown of God’s creation (Hebrews 2:9-11) – What is said of Jesus, in this text is applicable to the believer (Hebrews 2:11).
These are some of the things you need to know about yourself. When you clearly make these real unto yourself, you will redirect your living pattern.
