Herald of Maranatha:
Fresh From God
Topic: My kind of Man
(Single's Diary)
(Single's Diary)
1 Samuel 9:2b KJV
and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.
"I'm ripe for marriage, so no time for nonsense,
I have the standards of my kind of man in mind: Young, slim, tall, fair, charming and rich."
These are some standards that either make up a wrong marriage or singleness at an old age.
You're welcome to this edition of Single's Diary. We were told last week that we need to understand the purpose of marriage so we can know the kind of relationship that can preceed it.
The Bible reference shows a perfect model of the most desired man of many young ladies, but do you know that was Saul being described there?
Many have forfeited a David for a Saul, because of their strange standards.
All you want is what you can see, the kind of man every lady will be dying for.
Isn't that making you like the wicked as described in the scriptures?
Psalm 10:4 KJV
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God : God is not in all his thoughts.
The aftermath of that marriage is this, the man meets all your criteria, as well as the devil's criteria, so he becomes a tool in his hands. He sleeps with anything in skirt, it's not his fault-they all like him. You went for him because he was rich with a 95 model Volkswagen golf, when other suitors did not even have bicycles, but 9 years into your marriage, he's still polishing the same car: there's no improvement.
I've seen marriages break as if there was never anytime they claimed to love each other.
These and many more are the reasons why we must seek God's approval in our marital choice.
Proverbs 20:6 KJV
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
Meet my choice Lady
