Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Why do we need discipleship?
Jesus Christ our Lord, commanded discipleship, just as he did, he raised disciples during his days in the body and he instructed us to do so.
Disciples are witnesses, they are not talebearers. The disciples are taught by the word of God and practical life experiences. They are a first witness of what the preach.
1 John 1:1 KJV
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
When should we engage in discipleship?
Discipleship should begin immediately after water baptism, according to Christ's commandment.
Christ commanded preaching the gospel, then Baptism, which is a means of grafting you into the body of Christ, then discipleship (teaching them to observe all things).
After confessing Jesus as your Lord and saviour, you need to be baptized by immersion in water, and begin to learn the ways of your new Father through discipleship.
Lack of proper discipleship makes an "unstable believer" sometimes instrumental to complete backsliding. The period of discipleship is time dig deep to the streams of water as a planted tree.
A disciple should constantly desire the ways of God and the word of God.
A disciple is dead to self and alive to the Spirit, therefore he is teachable.
John 6:68 KJV
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
By God's grace, we will be starting with solving your identity crisis.

Are you saved?
If no, believe in the Lord Jesus in your heart as the Son of God, and that He died for your sins and confess Him as your Lord and saviour. Confess your sins and invite Jesus into your heart and experience the peace Jesus alone can give.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Desire to be baptized into the body of Christ.
Then begin the discipleship.
