Topic: The Apostle's determination (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 21:1-4 KJV
And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara: [2] And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth. [3] Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden. [4] And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
The Apostles, in their days, traveled a lot of distances on seas and land, to preach the gospel. Not so easy but they never gave up.
They spent their entire lives doing the things of the kingdom, since they were called until their death.
How far can you go for God?
Hebrews 11:37-38 KJV
They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; [38] (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
I once heard a great man of God narrating his ordeal, how he broke his leg in an accident on his way to preach the gospel, he had to preach anyway. He was traveling for another revival program within the space of 3 months, he had another accident affecting the same leg. He said he stands to preach and returns home to hang his legs up by the reason of pains. He asked the the Doctor, how he can be treated, he was told it was going to take about 6 months. They said they'll have to fracture the leg again and begin the treatment again because he didn't rest well for the healing to be complete. He said something so touching, he said
"How many more years do I have on earth and you'll have me on bed for 6 months without preaching the gospel "
This is an example of a pure determination of an Apostle.
We need to constantly reflect on these trials and pains of the Apostle as drinking from the cup Jesus drank and be willing, praying daily for grace to stand for God, "COME WHAT MAY"
Prayers 🙏🏼: Lord Jesus, help me to be focused, determined and to give my all to you.
Remain blessed
