Topic: Love in Christian leadership (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 20:36-38 KJV
And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all. [37] And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him, [38] Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.
We can see a pure demonstration of love here. As the Apostle gave his farewell speech, he was more concerned about the people than for himself, though not knowing what will befall him.
Acts 20:22-23,25 KJV
And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: [23] Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. [25] And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.
In this grievous condition he took his time out to pray for the people. This was such a time when the leaders will tell the people to intercede for them, but he did otherwise. Do you love your people as a leader?
The people also demonstrated genuine love towards their leader, they wept and were deeply sorrowful over him. Do you love and pray for your leaders?
These days a lot of people just gossip, backbite and backstab thier leaders, that's not what the church should be. Love should be without dissimulation.
That's true Christianity.
Prayers 🙏🏼: Lord Jesus, help us to love, even as you love us, always reflecting your love to all.
