Fresh From God
Topic: A fixed heart (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 21:10-13 KJV
And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus. [11] And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. [12] And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. [13] Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
The Apostle was told what he would suffer in Jerusalem, but he refused to be dissuaded from going into Jerusalem. "Yes but it must happen" was Paul's state of mind.
What?
Was that not disobeying the Holy Spirit?
No.
The Holy Spirit revealed what he would suffer, He didn't say he shouldn't go. What he would suffer as a follower of Christ has been revealed to him since his encounter with Jesus.
Acts 9:16 KJV
For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
Psalm 112:7 KJV
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
The word of God doesn't bring confusion, we get confused by logically reasoning the word of God.
The word of God is spiritual and should be discerned spiritually.
1 Corinthians 2:13 KJV
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
You don't make a logical counsel out of the word of God, you take a godly counsel from it.
Jesus was similarly dissuaded by Peter not to go to Jerusalem, but Jesus rebuked him.
Matthew 16:21-23 KJV
From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. [22] Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. [23] But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Peter understood the revelation by the Holy Spirit, but he reasoned it by logics.
Matthew 16:17 KJV
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Our hearts needs to be fixed on God, His word and His promises. Confusion comes from our own logical reasoning, not by the revelations of God.
Prayers 🙏🏼: Lord Jesus, make my heart fixed on you, your word and your promises, never to be moved by human logics in Jesus name.
Remain blessed
