Topic: Office of the Prophet (Apostolic Revival) 

Acts 15:32-33 KJV

And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them . [33] And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.

There's a great misunderstanding of the office of the prophets in this dispensation. We see people arrogantly operating under the influence of the spirit of divination and they are celebrated by others.

If this strange girl in Philippi was in today's church, she would be called a prophetess, whereas she was just a possessed in need of deliverance.

How many possessed men and women are we bowing to as prophets in churches today? 

"Your father's name is this"

"You were born in this date" 

Are these prophecies?

If we don't understand the purpose of prophecy we can't identify true prophecy.

If Apostle Paul wasn't able to discern, he would have just invited the lady to join their team.

"Acts 16:16-18 KJV

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: [17] The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. [18] And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour."

The purpose of prophecy is to edify not to show that I know something about you.

Prayers: Lord Jesus, cleanse your church from strange spirits standing in the holy places.
