Topic: The House of God (Sunday Special)
Matthew 21:12-13 KJV
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, [13] And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Our motives for going to the house of God really matters. From our text some went there to sell, some went to buy, some went to change money etc. In our days we don't literally see people doing such, but we see more terrible things.
-some people go to show off their new clothes and shoes.
- some people go because their parents will ask them.
- some people go to fulfill all righteousness
- some people go to catch up with friends.
- some people go because it's the norm
-some because of their friends
When they are in church some are just there physically but their minds are somewhere else, some will surf the internet, chat and do what they won't dare to do in the presence of an important person.
Have we ever imagined this, if we can see God physically, will we be behaving the same way?
Let's go to church with a right attitude and am sure we won't regret it.
The house God is a house of prayer.
Prayers: Lord give me a right attitude to things pertaining to you.
