Topic: Sins to abstain from (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 15:19-20 KJV
Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: [20] But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
The Apostles ordered that the gentile shouldn't be troubled with burdens like physical circumcision but that they should abstain from these;
* pollutions of idols,
* from fornication,
* from things strangled, and from blood.
Let's look at the relevance of these sins to us.
Pollutions of idols - indicates that they shouldn't return into their former idolatrous practices. We should also burn the bridges behind us, and we shouldn't return to our past life after salvation.
This doesn't give allowance for just anything after salvation, but a holy lifestyle is commanded.
"1 Peter 1:15 KJV
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;"
Hyper-grace allowance for sin, or renaming sins as God's righteousness is not allowed.
Someone once said "if a saved person falls into fornication, it's not a sin for him, because God has declared him righteous" these are devil's lies for his end time harvest of souls to hell. May the Lord help us all to remain standing in the old truth.
Prayers: Lord Jesus, I choose to believe you with the whole of my heart, uphold me in your ancient truth. Save me from my own ways.
Remain blessed
