Herald of maranatha:
Daily Fresh From God
Topic: Purpose of prophecy (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 15:32-33 KJV
And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them . [33] And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
From our text today let's consider carefully the purpose of the prophetic and prophets. Judas and Silas were prophets, and they exhorted and confirmed the brethren.
That is simply the purpose of the prophecy, it's to edify not for show off or demonstrate supernatural abilities to know things.
How do we identify genuine prophecy?
Every prophecy that doesn't conform with the word of God is not from God. God's spoken word is confirmed by His written word.
Bring every word of prophecy to the light of the word of God.
"1 John 4:1 KJV
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
Prayers: Lord Jesus, cleanse your church from strange spirits standing in the holy places. We receive the grace to discern in Jesus name.
