Topic: Circumcision or Sanctification (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 15:1 KJV
And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said , Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
Circumcision was a seal of the covenant God made with Abraham, it wasn't the covenant itself. God made this blessed covenant with Abraham being uncircumcised and He sealed it up with circumcision.
"Romans 4:10-11 KJV
How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. [11] And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:"
God emphasized circumcision for Abraham and his seeds after him as a sign to all who will believe in God after the order of Abraham.
Abraham was declared righteous by having faith in God, though uncircumcised, also the gentiles can be saved through faith in Christ.
God gave circumcision as a seal to the covenant with Abraham, also sanctification by the Holy Spirit is like a seal of salvation. At salvation the shoots of sin is taken away, at sanctification the root of sin is taken out.
At salvation sins are forgiven, at sanctification desire for sin dies.
Just like circumcision was mandatory for the children of Abraham, sanctification is also mandatory for those of us who were saved through this covenant.
Sanctification is a needful experience.
"1 Thessalonians 5:23 KJV
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Prayers: Oh Lord Jesus, sanctify my spirit, soul and body in Jesus name.
Remain blessed
"Sanctification is not optional, it is mandatory"(Omoloye A A)
At salvation a believer is also sanctified. They are not two different experiences. Heb 10:10
