Topic: Escaping condemnation (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 14:11-15 KJV
And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. [12] And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. [13] Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people. [14] Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of , they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, [15] And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
Obviously a notable miracle just happened which was meant stir up a revival, but it was misunderstood by the people, who were still given to idolatry.
This makes it clear that inasmuch as miracles are tools for revival there's no salvation without the gospel of Christ.
Thank God for the lives of the apostles, they quickly rejected the glory the people gave unto them and so they escaped death and condemnation.
The devil set a trap for them to claim God's glory and immediately he arranged people to kill, they could be condemned.
"1 Timothy 3:6 KJV
Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil."
Humility is a key to escaping satan's condemnation trap.
Many modern day ministers have taken God's glory to themselves and they are potentially under satan's condemnation.
May we be humble before God and man in Jesus name.
"Romans 8:1 KJV
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
Prayers: Father Lord, preserve me in your will, help my heart to be humble before you in Jesus name.
Remain blessed
