Topic: Allegiance to the Lord (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 14:19-21 KJV
And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. [20] Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. [21] And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
Anyone who narrowly escaped death, should obviously run for his life and probably never return to the same place.
On the contrary the Apostles were stoned and assumed dead in Lystra, but that wasn't enough to keep away from God's assignment they had pledged their allegiance to the Lord.
They went to preach in another city and still returned to Lystra to confirm the faith of the brethren.
" Acts 14:21-22 KJV
And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, [22] Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God."
Urging them not to be discouraged by his afflictions. This was a life of total allegiance to the Lord.
How often have we withdrawn from preaching the gospel, because of an embarrassment we faced?
May we be totally sold out to the will of God in like manner.
Prayers: Father Lord, help me be totally sold out to you in Jesus name.
Remain blessed
