Topic: Error of selective salvation (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 11:18-19 KJV
When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. [19] Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
Peter, when battling with the generalization of God saving power he said "Acts 10:14a KJV
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; "
He tried disagreeing with his Lord, though he knew His as Lord.
The assumptions that God had earlier selected those who should be saved, irrespective of their decision, by His sovereignty, is an error similar to the early Jews.
The early disciples believed salvation was for the Jews only (it took God teaching Peter to understand) but this present day error is deeply worse than what the early Christian's believe.
This error negates the fact that Jesus died for the whole world as in;
"John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
It also negate the fact that you have a part to play in salvation as in;
"Romans 10:10 KJV
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
It negates the availability of grace to everyone, as in;
"Titus 2:11 KJV
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,"
This error thrives on false humility, disregarding the power of God (godliness) for His sovereignty. Excusing our wrongs under God's sovereignty and predestination, all these are errors, to indulge everyone in carelessness, sin and relegate the power of godliness.
" 2 Timothy 3:5 KJV
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
You've been told what to do in the scriptures, "turn away"
Prayers: Oh Lord Jesus Christ, may I not be swept by the wind of error, may I not be stubborn to your word.
Remain blessed

I've got no intention of starting a debate but I'll advice both the owner of this blog and those who read this blog to go and properly study the books of Ephesians and Romans for themselves. Selecting some parts of the scripture and expatiating on it without properly understanding the context and the meaning is not enough.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment, it's good you mentioned both books. I think they should be read together to be able to confirm clearly that there is no selective salvation, and that Christ died for all who will believe in Him through the gospel. Many have been confused reading only Ephesians and others reading a part of Romans. The word of God explains itself. Thanks once again.
