Good works versus God's righteousness (Apostolic Revival)

Herald of maranatha
Daily Fresh From God
Topic: Good works versus God's righteousness (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 10:1-2
There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian [a]Regiment, 2 a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave [b]alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.

Our good works can never match God's righteous standard. A song i love so much states;
"Not the labour of my hands can fulfill the law's demand. Could my zeal no respite know. Could my tears forever flow. All for sin can not attone. Thou must save and thou alone"
From our text, Cornelius was full of good works, yet one thing was needful: an encounter with Jesus! It wasn't a joke when Jesus said ''John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me''
No one comes to the father except by Jesus.
Does it mean these "good people" that does not believe in Jesus can't get to heaven?
Yes, Jesus said so!
Our very good works are just like filthy rags before God, how terrible will our wicked works be?
"Ish 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away."
Cornelius found grace in the sight of God and he got a divine visitation. Good works are great, but it doesn't make heaven our right, every good work(self righteousness) you do without the salvation Jesus died for, is vanity. A lot of politicians, who are murderers and thieves, also engage in a lot of philanthropic activities, and these doesn't erase the reality of their personality. Your good works after salvation is powered by the Holy Spirit, so it's credible(God's righteousness).
"Phil 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."

Release your heart to God, as you serve before Him without wavering, He will encounter you. Your good works will meet God's grace and you'll receive a divine visitation soon.

Prayers: Oh Lord Jesus Christ, help me to depend solely on you and not to trust in my own works.

Remain blessed
