Topic:  Understanding the scriptures I (Apostolic Revival)

Acts 8:29-30KJV 

Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. [30] And Philip ran thither to him , and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

From our text today we can see something very important to observe.

The matter of understanding the scriptures is very vital.
The scripture can only be understood by the help of Holy Spirit. Many people have read the scriptures with logical understanding, thereby causing conflict with spiritual interpretation.

"1 Corinthians 2:13 KJV
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."

This conflict has caused a lot of divisions and heresies to spread among the believers.

The Holy Spirit is interested in making us understand the scriptures, just as we saw in our text. He sent Philip to the eunuch, to enlighten him. Though the eunuch had a confused interpretation of the scriptures, he accepted that he doesn't understand.
Until we unlearn human logical interpretation we've built our lives upon, it might be hard to learn by the Holy Spirit.

Understandest thou what thou readest?

Prayers: Oh Lord Jesus, I unlearn every human logics to your word, I embrace the spiritual understanding, equip and fortify me for the forth coming revival.
