Topic: Allegiance to the Lord (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 5:27-29 KJV
And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, [28] Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. [29] Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Ignoring the miraculous exit of the Apostles from the prison where they were locked, they still took them to the council for scolding. This was the same council that lied against Jesus and crucified Him.
Here because they don't want to be guilty of the innocent blood they condemned to death, they closed their eyes to the truth and tried to silence the gospel. Watch most people antagonizing the gospel are guilty of it, just like these people in our text. Their threat was as serious as could lead to the death of the Apostles, but with their pledged allegiance to the Lord Jesus, they were not moved.
How much threat have you seen before turning your back to Jesus?
"Hebrews 12:4 KJV
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin."
Many in our days have pledged the allegiance to Satan, some to men, that even when such man kicks against the word of God they will simply follow him.
"Psalm 138:2 KJV
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."
Let's be watchful and be sure that our allegiance is to God and not man or satan. Until men, pastors, preachers, Christian pledge their allegiance to God sincerely, there can never be a true revival.
Some Pastors have pledged the allegiance to their followers and they become heretics according to the scriptures.
"2 Timothy 4:3 KJV
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"
Decide today to pledge your allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ, come what may.
"No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me. From life's first cry till final breathe, Jesus commands my destiny"
From my favorite song.
Prayers: Oh Lord Jesus, I pledge my allegiance to you, equip and fortify me for the forth coming revival.
Remain blessed
