Topic: Response to persecution (Apostolic Revival)
Acts 5:40-41 KJV
And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them , they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. [41] And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
How many persecutions have you faced for the sake of the gospel and how do you respond to them?
The intention of persecution is always to stop the revival movements. So your response to it, matters a lot. If you're being insulted, assaulted or ridiculed for contending for the faith Jesus handed to the saints of old, you need not to give up in fear.
Your response will determine the effect of the persecution. The reason why persecution moves us, is because we are expecting so much from the world, we are expecting acceptance by the world, so we get disappointed when we are persecuted. Jesus said;
"John 15:20 KJV
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also."
When we take persecution with joy and gladness the Devil is disgrace, disappointed and frustrated already.
From our text, these adults were beaten mercilessly and instead of seeking sympathy from the brethren, they came home rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for the sake of Christ.
Are you humiliated for Christ's sake, at work, school or anywhere, don't give up, rather give glory to God.
The revival God wants to do through you, will never stop by the reason of persecution in Jesus' name.
"2 Corinthians 12:10 KJV
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."
Prayers: Oh Lord Jesus, give me the strength to withstand persecution, glorifying you, equip and fortify me for the forth coming revival.
Remain blessed
