And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

God respects the unity of His children so much. Jesus knew that, it was a key attribute to revival in their midst, so He prayed for it.

From the old testament till date we observe that God responds to unity.

Unity can either be positive or negative, it could be godly or ungodly, God responds anyways.

Adam and Eve united in sin God came to see them, Sodom and Gomorrah united in evil God came down

"Genesis 18:20-21 KJV

And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; [21] I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know."

Mariam and Aaron rebelled God came down.

"Numbers 12:1,5 KJV

And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. [5] And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth."

People rebelled against God at the tower of Barbel God came down

"Genesis 11:6-7 KJV

And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. [7] Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."

All these are examples of wrong unity and God coming to rebuke them.

An example of good unity

"2 Chronicles 5:13 - 14 KJV

It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord ; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord , saying , For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord ; 

14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God." 

Jesus knew this secret so He prayed it with an entire chapter(John 17), and He also taught it.

"Matthew 18:20 KJV

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

Wherever the children of God are gathered together in the name of Jesus, is the surest place to guarantee the presence of God. 

   From our text the hearts of the disciples had to be united before the Holy Spirit could come. God does not reject right hearts in unity, but he rebukes rebellion sharply.  For the desired revival, we must agree with the brethren, husband must agree with his wife and everyone will look up to Jesus without blemish and the Holy Ghost will fill us again.

Today join the fellowship of God's children in unity, there's a guarantee of God's presence there.

The Lord has started the revival, He has rekindled the fire, don't be left out prepare to be a part of this REVIVAL 

Prayers: Oh Lord, as we fellowship with the brethren today, help our hearts not to rebel against your will, unite your children for the mighty revival.
