Topic: Renew the new man
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
A new creature as stated means a totally different man. What happens to the old man?
The old man and it's nature has been killed completely.
Then we have put on the new man.
The devil doesn't give up easily, he still tries to defile the new man with some trivial things that can grieve the Holy Spirit. We still have some work to do.
" Colossians 3:8-9 KJV
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath(extreme anger), malice(ill will or desire to harm someone), blasphemy(profane talks about God or sacred things), filthy communication out of your mouth. [9] Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;"
We are expected to deal with all these as we sense it trying to manifest in us, that requires constantly examination.
The reason why we can put off this things is because we have killed that old man and we have put on a new man.
This new man must always remain new, therefore it is very teachable.
"Colossians 3:10 KJV
And have put on the new man , which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:"
The new man is renewed daily by the knowledge of God, through His word. This daily renewal is tending towards making us just like Jesus.
Since we genuinely accepted Christ we have killed that old man, who desires sin constantly.
"Colossians 3:5 KJV
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:"
So let's ensure the daily renewal of our new man, lest it becomes old again.
Prayer: Oh Lord I receive the grace for a renewed consecration to you on daily bases in Jesus name.
Remain blessed
"God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, ’I love you.’" (celebrating one of God's Generals, Billy Graham)
