Topic: knowledge in part.
1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
God created man with two basic specifications.
"Genesis 1:26 KJV
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
First he is in God's image, second he is in God's likeness.
A candle wax can be used to carve out an image and the same image can be carved out of gold, these two are the same images but not of same likeness.
To possess a like-physical image, doesn't confirm how genuine the object is, the likeness confirms it better.
That means from the reference, we look like God and secondly, we are like God within.
The scriptural differences between God and man at creation were, death and knowledge.
"Genesis 2:16-17 KJV
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: [17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
"Genesis 3:5 KJV
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
knowledge has been the quest of man over time.
knowledge is linked with life and death. Knowledge of good and evil by eating the fruit brought death and knowledge of Christ brings life.
Finally, from our text, it is at death that our knowledge will be full. At death everyone will know what he would have lived for, here on earth.
We have to consciously choose to live for Jesus now in everything we do. May God help us.
Prayer: Oh Lord help me to live for you with my entire life in Jesus name.
Remain blessed. Happy Sunday.
