Topic: Rejoicing with moderation.
Philippians 4:4-5 KJV
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. [5] Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
From the first verse we are told to Rejoice alway, that means at all times, we weren't told to rejoice only when good things happen. We are to Rejoice every time, everyday. When things are not going on smoothly, in good times, in bad times we should rejoice. Though it is not easy to Rejoice when things are going bad, but let's try and see how it is when we rejoice in bad times.
How can this be? When your joy is connected to something physical it is temporal, but when it's from God it is steady. For Christians Joy is a fruit of the Spirit, it's not an expression for achievements. "Galatians 5:22 KJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,"
The truth is feeling bad or depressed will not help bad situation in fact, it will make it worse. But when we rejoice and praise God things will definitely turn out good.
Your rejoicing here should be by the Spirit of God, so it should be positive and godly. Some might express their joy by going to the club to mess up, but we are to rejoice in the Lord. "James 5:13 KJV
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms."
So our second verse admonishes us to let our moderation be made known to all, that is let people know what we stand for, you can't and shouldn't be on the fence, it's either you are for God or the Devil. You can't be for God and still be for the devil or have Devil's property.
Choose your choice today. It's a pleasant thing to be with God.
Our rejoicing is not in eating and drinking, but in the Spirit.
"Ephesians 5:18-19 KJV
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; [19] Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;"

Prayer: Father help me to always Rejoice and help me to be on your side at all time.
Remain blessed
