In recent times evangelism has been done with strange swords thereby perverting the way of godliness. No wonder the modern days gospel is no longer effective. Everyone who should have borne the precious seed of the gospel soberly, hoping and praying for the salvation of souls, has rather been a terror on social media. I see those who should reflect the image of Christ outrighly reflecting Satan, they speak abusive words, they are full of arrogance and  aggression. 

What kind of fruits do you bear? 

Such are manifestations of evil spirit.

Jesus told them to get the sword for their journey, for protection from attacks, because there were lots of wide beasts and robbers in Judea, not as an offensive weapon to propagate the gospel. Not even as weapon to fight Judas and his company, Jesus was set to lay down his life.

Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?"

 The scripture make it known to us that the word of God is the sword of the spirit, it's the sword that heals the heart and revives the soul. 

"Ephesians 6:17 KJV

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:"

We have used the sword of our mouth to kill rather than to heal, it's very unfortunate when acclaimed christians are now so uncensored talking to each other like those who have never known Christ at any point in time.

May the Lord help us to bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
