1 John 2:15-17 KJV
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Birds of the same feathers flock together, is a common quote. You definitely will end up at the destination of the people you follow. It means he who moves with the world will ends up with the world.
The love of the world can only hinder us from loving God and keeping God's commandments. We need to consciously avoid the love of the world.
I gave some youths an illustration some time ago, to know where their love is. I asked "what was most frequent in your thoughts for the day?" Various answers came indicating that a lot doesn't have God as priority, thereby following the world unconsciously.
We might pay more attention to many things that is not sinful, like our career, academics and other important things, these might be the love of the world to us, which opposes the love of God.

Choose God over everything else today and    you'll get establish forever(eternal life).

prayer:Father help me to choose you over the world in Jesus' name.
