Topic: Secured for life (Eternal security)
John 10:28-30 KJV
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. [30] I and my Father are one.
Someone shared this text with me sometime ago and said, if you're once saved you have eternal life already and no one can pluck out of Jesus' hand. We might need share this devotional to help save many from self deception and looming danger of hell.
Jesus said in the previous verse "John 10:27 KJV
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:"
Knowing here talks about intimate relationship, and to follow means total dedication.
From the text He said "I give them eternal life" not "I gave them" or "I have given them" I give them eternal life here is "present continuous tense" meaning I am continuously giving them eternal life. What is eternal life?
"John 17:3 KJV
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
So that scripture simply means Jesus gives us more revelation of Himself and God the father as long as we follow and obey Him constantly. It has nothing to do with eternal security, which is simply a doctrine satan to breed careless believers. No man can pluck them out, but they can choose to opt out by going back into sin, without repentance and reconciliation with God.
What are we to do to secure the hope of our salvation?

"1 John 3:2-3 KJV
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. [3] And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."
Purifying yourself as Jesus did is not an act of self-righteousness or living by works don't let heretics deceive you.
Stick to Jesus and live.
Prayer: Oh Lord Jesus grant me the grace to obey and follow you all the days of my life.
