Topic:Godly accountability
1 Peter 3:15 KJV
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
The obligation of an individual or organization to account for its activities, accept responsibility for them, and to disclose the results in a transparent manner. That's the business definition of accountability, from our text today, we see that the Lord demands this quality from His children.
It began by stating that God should be sanctified in our heart. When we sanctify God in our hearts, we can be sure that our outward characters will manifest godliness. "Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."
The Psalmist asked a sensitive question in "Psalm 24:3-4 KJV
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord ? or who shall stand in his holy place? - (God answers in the next)
[4] He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully."
There's a link between the state your heart and your outward attributes.
Many people engage in things they can't defend, and they claim "I know what I'm doing", without any readiness or willingness for accountability to anyone.
A lot of people love the freedom lifestyle of not being answerable to anyone, but God demands it. This is the reason for the apostatizing of many so called "Pastors". When there was a doctrinal issue in Acts 15, they sent to Jerusalem and it was resolved, then even Apostle Peter was accountable to the Jews. People become GOs over their ministries and that's the end of their accountability to men. Don't cover up your wrongs by saying "my heart and my intention is pure" the Lord demands that we should be ready to give answers. On our life's journey to this hope, let us be watchful to see that we are not only possessing a pure heart but also a clean hand that can be seen by men.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, may I not be too big to obey your words.
Remain blessed
